Confex Ltd
(Corporate lease , budget £9k)
In May 2005 Confex Ltd, a national confectionary buying group, were looking to hold a corporate day with a difference. Foxtrot Racing organised to lease Dunkerron to race in a Handicap hurdle at their local racecourse Warwick.
During the day Confex were able to entertain 20 guests in a private facility and enjoy a great day’s racing. After the second race all the guests were escorted to the paddock to see the Confex horse parade before the Handicap hurdle, where everyone was introduced to both the trainer & jockey.
The horse was wearing branding on the rug and on the attendants jacket and as owners for the day, Confex was mentioned a number of times in the racecard and over the P.A. The horse just got touched off for first place but came back a gallant second and all the guests were able to celebrate in the winners enclosure.
Feedback from Confex revealed that the day had been a great exercise with all guests relaying the experience of owning a racehorse was a real thrill. In fact a number of guests said that although they had never been horseracing, they were now hooked!
Managing Director Julien Loffet commented “Single day racehorse leasing is an innovative option for client entertainment and adds so much more to a day at the races. Foxtrot Racing were thorough and professional in all aspects of our day and I would have no hesitation in recommending them. In fact our day was so successful that we are going to lease a horse and come racing for our office Christmas party!”
Bed Games
(Company lease , budget £16k)
In July 2005, Bed Games, an international games manufactuerer, wanted to show its employees and suppliers its gratitude for a bumper year of trading. Foxtrot Racing organised the day for 40 guests at Goodwood racecourse in Sussex for a glorious day out.
A horse was leased in the Nursery race during the day, coming home a gallant fourth at 25/1. Bed Games also took advantage of a gallops visit to the stables the week before the race, where over 40 people turned up to learn about the horse they had leased. On the day Richard Counsell, Bed Games MD, ran a competition for 10 guests to enter the paddock for the race, while another prize draw was organised for one lucky employee to win the prize money from the horse's achievements.
Caroline Kennedy, the office manager was the lucky winner who took home over £800! Richard said "Foxtrot Racing came up trumps! Everyone had a brillian time and it was good value-fro-money compared to other sporting corporate hospitality."
